Matty Lee’s Life
He won the 2012 European Junior Championships. After capturing the 3m Springboard gold that season, he proceeded to the World Junior Championships and placed eighth in Group B Platform.
In 2013, he won medals in all three Group B individual events, defending his 3 m championship, silver in 10 m Platform, and bronze in 1m Springboard.
In 2014, he shared 10m Synchro bronze with Dan Goodfellow at the first two FINA Diving World Series legs. In the same year, he won bronze in the National Cup and British Championships. He was also picked for the 2014 Commonwealth Games but had to withdraw due to injury.
On 2015, he won gold in the 10 m platform against Russia’s Nikita Shleikher.
In 2017, he earned a bronze medal in the men’s 10 m platform and a gold medal in the mixed 10 m platform synchro with Lois Toulson. They both won silver in the 10 m mixed synchro at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships.
A score of 406.17 was enough to win the 10 m synchro event at the 2018 British Diving Championships, beating the second-place mark of 388.50. He scored 485.60 in the men’s 10 m platform.
In the mixed platform synchro, he and Lois Toulson won bronze at the 2018 FINA Diving World Series in Beijing.
They won silver in the mixed 10-meter platform synchro at the 2018 European Championships in Glasgow/Edinburgh.
In the men’s synchronized 10-meter platform, Lee teamed up with Tom Daley.
He and Daley won bronze in the 10 m synchro at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships in Gwangju, South Korea.
Both he and Daley won gold in the FINA Diving World Cup in Japan in 2021. At the European Championships in Budapest, they both won gold in synchronized 10 m platform.
In the Men’s Synchronized 10 m Platform event, he won Gold with Daley in Tokyo in July 2020.
