Samuel George Claflin, better known as Sam Claflin, was born on June 27, 1986. He is an actor from England. After earning his degree in fine arts, he started his acting career.
In the film Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, he played Philip Swift in his first television role. When he played Finnick Odair in the movie The Hunger Games, his popularity increased.
Sam Claflin’s Date of Birth and Parents
Sam was an Ipswich native. Sam was raised in Norwich, Norfolk, together with his siblings. Football was his first love as a youngster, and he played it all through boyhood. Unfortunately, he had a terrible ankle break that stopped him from playing football professionally.
Sam Claflin’s Education
He developed his acting profession after being strongly encouraged to do so by his parents and a high school instructor he really loves.
In 2003, he joined the Norwich City School of Excellence after enrolling in the performing arts program at Norwich City College. The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts awarded him a diploma in 2009.
Sam Claflin’s Career
In the 2010s The Pillars of the Earth and Any Human Heart, Sam made his acting appearances as Richard and young Logan Mountstuart, respectively.
He was cast as Thomas in the Seventh Son, a cinematic version of The Spook’s Apprentice, the following March but was quickly mistakenly replaced by Ben Barnes.
He played a football player named Ducan Edwards in the BBC TV drama United that same year, which focused on the events of the 1958 Munich air accident.
He was cast in the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides film, the fourth in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, in April of the year 2010 as Philip Swift, a missionary who falls in love with the siren Sirena.
He was nominated for the Best Male Newcomer at the 17th Empire Awards for his performance in the film.
He had an appearance in the sixth episode of the White Heat miniseries, and later that year he portrayed William, Snow White’s childhood buddy, in a supporting part in the film Snow White and the Huntsman.
He was chosen to play the lead in The Quiet Ones, which was released in April 2014, and was nominated for a 2012 Teen Choice Award in the category of Best Movie Breakout.
In many moments of the Huntsman Winter’s War sequel, Sam returned to his role as William, Snow White’s boyhood companion. The same year, he also featured in Me Before You, the movie version of the same-named book in which he played William Taylor.
