Tanner was born and raised in Burbank but eventually relocated to Los Angeles with his family in search of acting possibilities. At a very early age, his parents saw the potential he had.
He registered for professional training at the “Edge Performing Arts Centre” and “Huckleberry Friends Production” after relocating there. He soon after appeared in an audition for the 2010 season of “Modern Family” on television and was chosen for a lead part.
In 2013, Tanner quickly signed on for other recurring parts in TV shows including “Major Crimes,” “Ghost Ghirls,” and “The Goldbergs.”
In the same year, he made his debut in a major motion picture with Jennifer Leigh and Elias Koteas in the film “Jake Squared.” He was cast in the TV series “Growing Up Fisher” as well as the short films “Ellie,” “Guests,” and “Alone in the Dust” in 2014.
