She is most recognized for her work in the films The Halcyon, Genius, and Bounty Hunters (2017), Wolf Hall and The Player (2015), Casualty 1900s (2008–2009), Sense & Sensibility (2008), and Georgina Dymova in The Great (2020–2023).

Her fame grew even more on British television, where she made appearances in hit shows like “Casualty” and “Midsomer Murders.”

    Wakefield starred in the 2015 BBC2 television series Wolf Hall as Mary Boleyn. She also appeared along with Philip Winchester and Wesley Snipes in the NBC drama The Player.

    In 2009, Charity Wakefield earned widespread recognition as Marianne Dashwood in the BBC adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Sense and Sensibility.” It was a major turning point in her career, and her performance was praised for capturing the essential qualities of the beloved character.

    The actress kept up her progress in television and movies. She co-starred with John Cusack and Luke Evans in the thriller “The Raven,” which was directed by James McTeigue and released in 2011. The film looked at an imaginary story of Edgar Allan Poe’s final days.

    She played Charity Lambert in two episodes of the ITV drama The Halcyon in 2017. Wakefield played Leah Hoover, the sister of co-creator and co-lead Jack Whitehall, in the main cast of the Sky One comedy drama Bounty Hunters in both the 2017 and 2019 seasons.

    Wakefield’s career also included roles in American television productions while she was there. Her 2015 appearance in the historical drama series “The Player” allowed her to show off her skills to a wider global audience.

    One of the major moments in Charity Wakefield’s career came in 2016 when she played Marilyn Munster in the television pilot “The Munsters Today.”  In addition to her screenwork, Wakefield has been active on the stage, participating in various theater productions.
