In Los Angeles, California, on March 4, 1969, Chaz was given the name Chastity Sun Bono.
Born to the well-known musical duet Cher and Sonny Bono, he often made appearances on their well-known television program. He was given the name of a Sonny Bono-written and produced movie.
Since his birth, Chaz has dominated the spotlight since both of his parents were at the top of their professions. He made his debut on television in “The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour,” a program hosted by his parents.

Chaz Bono’s Career
Chaz began his musical career in 1988 by joining the band “Ceremony” when he was a student at “New York University.” He not only sang lead for the band, but he also played guitar and drums.
When he was struggling, Bono kept his famous parents a secret. He eventually exposed his genuine identity, however, and signed a record contract after a few months.
After signing a contract with his band, “Geffen Records,” “Ceremony” produced a number of songs for the record company during the next years, most of which were written by Chaz.
He and the other members of his band experimented a lot by blending soothing music with psychedelic overtones. The band’s album “Hang Out Your Poetry,” which was published in 1993, garnered a variety of reviews.
Some reviews, however, complimented the album’s artistic qualities and referred to it as “soothing psychedelia.”
Chaz released a book named “Family Outing” after being discouraged by the fact that he was not being accepted by society for who he was. He had written in the book about the difficulties he had while telling his parents about his sexual orientation.
His mother had accepted the reality before the book was published. She also discussed her response to her child’s choice. She said that at first, the news had shocked her since Chaz was her only kid.
The End of Innocence, a book by Bono, was released in 2003. He had revealed undisclosed details about his past in the biography, as well as how the breakup of his band destroyed his artistic ambitions.
His other relationships, notably the one with a significantly older lady, were also discussed in the book.
