    Popular American actress Courtney Thorne-Smith is best known for her appearances in the television programs “Melrose Place,” “Ally McBeal,” and “According to Jim.” She received good compliments for her performance in a recurring role in the comedy “Two and a Half Men.”

    Walter Smith and Lora Thorne welcomed Courtney Thorne-Smith into the world on November 8, 1967, in California. Her mother was a therapist and her father worked as a computer market researcher. Jennifer is her elder sister. When Courtney was seven years old, her parents split up.

    When Courtney Thorne-Smith was in her late teens, she began her acting career. She made her acting debut in a supporting part in the drama movie “Lucas” in 1986, which also featured Winona Ryder, Corey Haim, and Charlie Sheen.

    She started acting on television around the same period, as Stacey Hamilton in the show “Fast Times.” A few TV movies she worked on were “The Thanksgiving Promise.”

    In the late 1980s, her career really began to take off. She began by acting as gorgeous sirens in sex movies and TV shows before advancing to more mature and multiple parts.
