Harry Maguire is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for Leicester City in the Premier League and for the England national team.
Early Years
Harry Maguire’s full name is Jacob Harry Maguire, and he was born in Sheffield, England, on March 5, 1993. His parents’ surnames are unknown. Daisy Maguire is his sister, while Laurence Maguire, his brother, is also an English professional footballer. He was born in England and retains the nationality of the United Kingdom. He went to Chesterfield’s St Mary’s Roman Catholic High School.
Career
Maguire began his career with Sheffield United’s junior system before being promoted to the first-team squad and making his debut in a home match against Cardiff City in April 2011, for which he won the man of the match award. He competed in the tournament four times. He scored his first goal for Oldham Athletic on the first day of the 2011-2012 League One season. The club named him “Player of the Year” as well as “Young Player of the Year.” He was chosen as the first choice in the center of defense in the Football League Trophy on October 17, 2012. At the age of 19, he made his 100th appearance for Blades before the end of February.
Maguire signed a three-year contract with Hull City on July 29, 2014. On February 10, 2015, he joined Wigan Athletic on a one-month loan contract.
