    Jerry Lewis was an American actor, comedian, singer, writer, and Director who is known for his Satire Humor in film, Television, Stage, and Radio. His Comic Style made him one of the most popular performers of the 1950s and 1960s.

    Jerry Lewis was nicknamed “The King Of Comedy” as he was known as a cultural icon in the United States. His contribution to comedy made him one of the most popular and recognizable global figures in comedy over an eight-decade career.

    His fame rose when he hosts with singer Dean Martin on a show called ”Martin and Lewis”.

    Jerry Lewis was born in 1926, in Newark, Newjersey, United States. His original name was Joseph Levitch. The actors left the world on 20 August 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 91 years. His zodiac sign was Pisces and holds American Nationality. He follows Jewish as his religion.

    Lewi used to celebrate his birthday on the 23rd of March every year. He would have been 96 years old by now.

    Jerry Lewis studied at a community public High School in  Irvington, in Essex County, New Jersey, United States but he dropped out when he was in 10th grade. He pursued his career as a full-time entertainer after he dropped out.

    Jerry Lewis’s father Daniel Lewis, was an actor who performed under the stage name ‘Dany Lewis’. His mother Rachel “Rae” Levitch,  worked on the New York City of Radio Station as a piano player and Danny’s music director.

    They were originally from Russia but later, Danny’s parents migrated to the United States in New York.

    Lewis had married twice. At first, he married Patti Palmer, an Italian-American singer with Ted Fio Rito on October 3, 1944.

    The couple was blessed with six children,5 biological children, and one adopted. Their children’s names are Gary Levitch, Scott Christopher, Anthony, Joseph, and one adopted, Ronald.

    Later, in 1980, Palmer filed a divorce against lewis after 35 years of marriage. Their reason for divorce was Lewis’s excessive spending and extramarital relations with another woman. Finally, in 1983 they were legally separated.

    While being with Palmer, Lewis had openly pursued another woman and gave an unapologetic interview about his extramarital affairs with Marilyn Morone and Marylene Dietrich in 2011.

    He had multiple affairs during his marriage with Palmer. He also had an affair with model Lynn Dixon, by whom he had an unofficial daughter, Suzan Minoret.

    Later, Suzan Minoret was adopted by his stepfather who was a Nightclub owner Hy Jason Uchitel.

    Lewis’s second wife, Sandra “Sandee Pitnick” met lewis after winning a dancing scene in his film ‘Hardly Working’. The couple married on February 13, 1983, in Key Biscayne, Florida.

    She was with him till his last breath. They don’t have any biological children and after 9 years they adopted Daughter named Danielle who was born in 1992.

    Lewis had done more than 60 films and Tv production and performed his comedy routine at a nightclub and in concerts as a director, producer, and screenwriter.

    Some of his popular movies are Rock-A-Bye Baby, The Geisha Boy, The Bellboy, The Ladies Man, Funny Bones, The Trust, That’s My Boy, Money from Home, 3 Ring Circus and You’re never too young.

    Lewis became more popular when he host a show with singer Martin on the radio show called “Martin and lewis”. Their performances were very impressive and also got many film opportunities. The duo made their big-screen debut in 1949 with ‘My Friend Irma’.

    Altogether they had done 16 films such as ‘At War With The Army’, ‘Living With Up’, and ‘You’re Never Too Young’ which became very popular.

    In 1956, the duo ended their partnership because their relationship was not as good as they first met.’Hollywood or Bust’was their last movie together.

    In 1957 he had done his first movie without Martin, named ‘Delicate Delinquent’ which was a big successful movie. He also directed and acted in different movies such as The Bel Boy’, ‘The Nutty Professor’, ‘The Big Mouth’, ‘One More Time’, and ‘Cracking Up’.

    He was also Honoured with the prestigious Hubert H.Humphrey Humanitarian Award in 1980.

    Jerry Lewis’s Death

    Jerry Lewis died at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 91. He was noticed dead on August 20, 2017. His cause of death was cardiac disease and peripheral artery disease
