Jonathan Gilbert’s Career
When he was chosen to play Willie Oleson in NBC’s “Little House on the Prairie,” Jonathan Gilbert made his television debut at the age of seven.
The western drama series, which was based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s “Little House” book series, was about a family living on a farm in Minnesota in the 1870s and 1880s.
Richard Bull, Katherine MacGregor, Dabbs Greer, Kevin Hagen, and Jonathan’s sister, Melissa Gilbert, also appeared in the 1974–1983 television series.
The actor repeated his role as Willie Oleson in the made-for-television film “The Little House Years” which was released in 1979.
