Krystsina Tsimanouskaya is a Belarusian sprinter who has won silver in the 100 meters at the 2017 European U23 Championships, gold in the 200 meters at the 2019 Summer Universiade in Naples, Italy, and silver in the team event at the 2019 European Games in Minsk, Belarus.

She has only qualified to compete in the 100 m and 200 m events at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She claimed that national sports officials pushed her to compete in the 4 400 m relay in addition to scheduled events without her approval after the Olympics began, and she chastised the national sports authorities. On August 1, 2021, the Belarus Olympic Committee forcefully transported her to Haneda Airport. She was offered police protection after refusing to take an aircraft back to Belarus. She earlier claimed that Belarusian authorities included her in Thursday’s 400-meter relay event on short notice after certain teammates were determined to be ineligible to race in a video broadcast online. Following the release of the footage, state media chastised her, with one television program claiming she lacked “team spirit.” She said she had been kicked from the squad “because of what I stated on Instagram regarding our coaches’ incompetence.” The IOC announced it has intervened in a dispute with the Belarusian National Olympic Committee ahead of the Tokyo Games. “The IOC is investigating the situation and has requested an explanation from the NOC,” the Olympics stated in a statement.
After reports that she was forced to leave Tokyo, Krystsina Tsimanouskaya was awarded a humanitarian visa.
