She also placed fourth in the 1500m and sixth in the 5000m at the 2017 World Championships in London, and she stated in April that she will skip the 2018 Commonwealth Games to concentrate on her veterinary medical examinations.
Muir competed at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham in March 2018, where she earned a bronze medal in the 3000m, and she also won the 1500m championship at the 2018 European Championships in Berlin in August 2018, being the first British woman to do so.
