Early Years

Early in career
Lovre joined HNK Hajduk Split as a 21-year-old on April 23, 2011, under the management of Ante Mise. He made his debut against NK Slaven Belupo, which the club won by a score of 2-1. As part of a loan contract with Hajduk Split, he was sent to numerous football clubs such as JunakSinj in 2009, Novalja in 2010 and Karlovac in 2012. For the 2013-14 season, he was moved to such a team to serve as the starting goalie. In the Croatian premier football league, Hrvatski Telekom Prva Liga, Lovre set a new record for the most consecutive minutes without surrendering a goal. He went eight games without giving up a goal.
Lovre missed all three matches in the 2016-17 season as a member of Croatia’s UEFA Euro 2016 team due to Marijan Punik extending his vacation. Hajduk beat Oleksandriya football club 3-0 in the third round of the UEFA Europa League at CSC Nika Stadium on July 28, 2016, and he kept a clean sheet. In September 2017, he signed a five-year deal with Hajduk Split. In seven seasons, he made 134 appearances.
Lovre finalized his transfer to Belgian First Division A side K.A.A. Gent on December 27, 2017. With a transfer cost of € 3.1 million, he is the most expensive goalkeeper in history. For the 2016-17 season, he was awarded the best goalkeeper in the Belgian league.
