    Mary Elizabeth Winstead was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, on November 18, 1984. James Ronald and Betty Lou were her parents. She is the eldest of five siblings. She was nominated for Scream Queen at the 2007 Scream Awards only because of the film. In 2006, she also featured in Bobby. The cast of the film was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Cast in a Motion Picture, but it won the Hollywood Film Festival Award for Best Cast instead. In the films Death Proof and Grindhouse, she played a naive actress. She also starred with Bruce Willis in the film Live Free or Die Hard. It received a lot of positive feedback. She played the lead in the film Make It Happen. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was another film in which she starred. The film was released in late 2010, however it did not do well at the box office. However, she was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Choice Actress Action. She played the lead in the film The Thing.

    Indie Film Route 2012-2014

    Smashed was an indie drama in which Winstead starred. She also portrayed Abraham Lincoln in the film Abraham Lincoln. She also had an appearance in the film The Beauty Within. She was also cast in Charles Swan II: A Glimpse Inside His Mind. In North America, it had a limited theatrical release. The Spectacular Now (2013), A Good Day to Die Hard (2013), Alex of Venice (2014), Faults (2014), and Kill the Messenger all featured her. All of these films received positive reviews.

    Balance between television and film from 2015 until the present

    By January 2015, Winstead has already been cast in a series on a regular basis. She appeared in the French drama The Returned, as well as in the comedy Bang!
