    Michelle Wu is a notable American lawyer and politician from Boston. She is the board’s first Asian-American woman. She has been on the Boston City Council since January 2014. She was the first woman of color to lead the council from January 2016 until January 2018. She is a political reformer and a “protégée” of Elizabeth Warren, Wu’s mentor. was the first woman of color to lead the council.     Michelle Wu was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Her nationality is American and her ethnicity is Asian-Taiwanese-American. Her parents moved from Taiwan to the USA.     • She also designed the Boston Restaurant Roadmap and organized the Boston Food Truck Challenge, which resulted in three food trucks debuting on City Hall Plaza.
    • She subsequently joined the Medical-Legal Partnership at Boston Medical Center, where she helped low-income patients.
    • She oversaw outreach to all constituent groups, including communities of color, LGBTQ+, veterans, and women, for Warren’s 2012 campaign against Scott Brown.
    • She has served on the Boston City Council since January 2014, having been elected in November 2013 and re-elected three times. Second to incumbent Ayanna Pressley, she was elected to the council. She was the first Asian American woman and just the second Asian American on the council.
    • She was the council’s first Asian American and first woman of color president from January 2016 to January 2018.
