    Ruben Loftus-Cheek is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Chelsea in the Premier League and for the England national team.

    Early Years

    Ruben Loftus-full Cheek’s name is Ruben Ira Loftus-Cheek, and he was born in Lewis ham, London, on January 23, 1996. He comes from a well-to-do family. Trevor Loftus, his Guyanese father, and Juliette Cheek, his British mother, are his parents. He is Guyanese by birth. Carl and Leon Cort, two of his half-brothers, both played in the Premier League.

    Ruben joined Chelsea at the age of eight and made an impression at the start of the 2011-2012 season, but he was unable to play much due to a hip injury. He recovered towards the conclusion of the season and appeared in the 2012 FA Youth Cup Final as a substitute. He played 18 games for the U-18 team and nine games for the U-21 squad in the 2012-2013 season. He helped Chelsea win the FA Youth Cup and was a regular for the U-21 team, who won the Premier League under 21. Ruben Loftus-Cheek made his senior debut for the club in a UEFA Champions League group match on December 10, 2014. On January 31, 2015, he made his Premier League debut. On February 3, he was promoted to the first-team squad. He represented Chelsea in the 2014-2015 UEFA Youth League final in Switzerland. He only played three league games, but he was awarded a winner’s medal for his contribution to the season.

    Ruben Loftus-Cheek first appeared in the 2015-2016 season on August 29, 2015. On 10 January 2016, he came on as a half-time replacement in an FA Club encounter against Scunthorpe United, scoring his first senior goal as they won 2-0. After an outstanding performance on February 29, 2016, he signed a five-year contract. On April 2, he scored his first League goal. Following the goal, he was named to the starting lineup for the next two games against Swansea City and Manchester City. Ruben Loftus-Cheek took over as the striker in 2016-2017. He made his first appearance of the season on August 23, 2016. He scored the opening goal and assisted on the third goal in the EFL Cup victory against Bristol Rovers.

    On July 12, 2017, Ruben Loftus-Cheek joined Premier League club Crystal Palace on a season-long loan. He made his first appearance in the season’s first game. In November 2017, he was named to England’s team as a senior call-up by the manager for the matches against Germany and Brazil.

    Career Opportunities on the Global Stage

    Ruben Loftus-Cheek was a member of England’s under-16 squad in 2011, as well as the U17, U19, and U21 teams. He was also chosen in the tentative roster for the European Championship for the U21 team. He also played in the Toulon Tournament, where he scored the game-winning goal against France in the final. He was named the tournament’s player of the match after the game. In November 2017, he was also called up to the England senior team. He made his debut against Germany in a friendly match. He was named the man of the match. On May 16, 2018, Ruben Loftus-Cheek was named to Gareth Southgate’s 23-man team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. On June 18, 2018, he came on as a substitute and helped England win their first encounter against Tunisia.
