Shania Twain was born on August 28, 1965, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to Sharon Morrison and Clarence Edwards. When she was two years old, her parents split. She then began living with her mother and two sisters.
Shania and her sisters were adopted by Jerry Twain, her mother’s second husband. The birth of a brother and the adoption of another sibling expanded the family. Her stepfather was a violent guy who constantly clashed with her mother.
She began singing and performing at a young age. Music was her main source of peace in the middle of her everyday struggles. Her family was poor, so she supported herself by singing in clubs.
She attended ‘Timmins High and Vocational School,’ and she performed in the local band ‘Longshot.’
